Romy, I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing.
In your current setup, you are using the internal Lynx wordclock. In this case, the Lynx may well 'shut down' the external BNC wordclock cable. But that's not what I'm concerned with.
Yes, Lynx has 75R clocks in and out.
Yes, understood. But does it self-terminate? If not, you will need to use a T-connector and a 75 Ohm BNC terminator at the wordclock input.
... all that ...
Did you try to listen and did detect sonic benefits from slaving your PC interface from you DAC? The Cat
Oh yes, I've tried this for sure. There is a difference between the three modes; DIG_IN, REFWCLK and MASTER. Th...
So, what I use Pacific in DD mode then Pacific and Lynx run digital circular reference and this mode does not make any sense to me, unless I do specific DD task, that I practically never do. The Cat
Yes, I see your ...

Romy, just a quick response for now... a longer one another day.The Model Two definitely detects HDCD in the BSO files (just as the Esoteric D70 does). I have the PMI set to DD88-88 and am monitoring DIG_IN (with the word clock set to Master). But the...

Thanks Romy, I'll try connecting with an XLR to RCA cable. I've actually ordered a Henry Matchbox HD also because I can use it elsewhere if it doesn't help in this particular case. In any event, I'm hoping to share some thoughts on the Model 2's ...

Hi,I've just taken receipt of a Model 2 to use as a DAC in my study (using the ADC occasionally for recording live from a mic). I would like to feed the balanced XLR outputs of the Model 2 into the single-ended RCA inputs of my Berning Siegfried amp,...
Now how much better would be if people abandon that idiotic SACD/DSD and Mark Donahue would record BSO right in PCM at 88.2 kHz/24bit or 172.2 kHz/24bit format? Then the files that we get will be as close to raw master file...

Firstly, I'd like to make an apology to Mark Donahue - I didn't get his permission to paste his PM to me, and I should have done.
I disagree with Mark that HDCD is beneficial for 88.2kHz/24bit...
But here is something...

Not all the designers actually mention specific programs, but most seem to agree about the importance of the ripping and playback software.

(Didn't realise Firewire was doomed.)
Not a lot of mention of ASIO or WASAPI... although these are alluded to when talking about bit perfect playback.
I disagree with Charles Hansen who states, "[EAC] slows things down dras...

As I mentioned in a previous post, I use EAC with a Plextor drive (with the cache bypassed) to extract data from a CD.
I have now made a consistent observation that I thought some of you would be interested in:
